When Los Angeles Lakers rookie and #2 overall Draft pick Brandon Ingram signed with adidas earlier this summer, the news caught most people off guard. After starring for an adidas-sponsored AAU team during high school and later at Duke, he caught the attention of The Three Stripes, who made him one of their key targets in a loaded draft class.
The brand eventually signed six of the top ten draft picks over the summer, continuing a commitment to refreshing their roster and going younger, while also signing players with an interest in off-court style and growing their own personal profiles.
“A lot of people want to be different, and this is definitely the class of people being different,” says Ingram.
All throughout his rookie season, the 19 year-old Ingram will be working his way into the league in several different custom colorways of the adidas Crazylight Boost 2016. He’s got over a handful of PEs at his disposal, and has been switching in and out of his size 13 assortment.
“When they first showed them to me, I really liked them. Then, when I put it on my feet, I really liked them,” he laughs. “I’m a low-top kind of guy.”
Each pair features varying shades of Laker hues and subtle ‘BI’ and ’14’ touches atop the tongue tabs, like this primarily purple and yellow edition below.
