FedEx is launching a “Picture Proof of Delivery” service soon as the shipping carrier prepares for the busy holiday shopping season.

The program will be available early in select markets before its full rollout for FedEx Express and FedEx Ground shipments in the U.S. and Canada. A signature will not be required under the program.

This is something e-commerce merchants and customers have been asking for, and we are proud to be the first to announce this service will be available to residential customer.

Receiving visual confirmation that the package has arrived gives peace of mind to both merchants and consumers, and we are thrilled to give them that confidence.

The program provides peace of mind as package theft continues to be an ongoing nationwide issue.

According to a report by Secuirty.Org, 49 million Americans have had at least one package stolen in the past from November 2020 to November 2021. Within that same timespan, Security.Org reports that packages summed up to a total of $2.4 billion in goods.

FedEx’s “Picture of Proof Delivery” service will be available on a broader scale in the upcoming months, just in time for the holidays.
