Over the past few years, luxury sneakers have grown immensely in both affinity and affordability. This is due to several factors. For starters, there’s finally a middle ground – a space that highlights desirable, finely crafted sneakers that surely aren’t considered cheap, but won’t break the bank either. Moreover, brands like Amsterdam-based Filling Pieces, who grow in popularity stateside thanks to collaborative workings with Ronnie Fieg and an idea of bridging the gap between luxury and minimal sportswear silhouettes, are consistent in setting new trends, not following the current ones.
Trailing their fifth anniversary pack which released earlier this month, its successor comes in the form of their Spring/Summer 2015 collection. Full of imposing styles that feature luxe material usage including Italian quilted leather, python skin, and debossed neoprene, the bold offering defies commonality all the while maintaining a high level of quality. Hand constructed at four of their Portuguese factories, the Filling Pieces S/S ’15 collection lands in-store and online December 27th.
