Last week, Illinois authorities recovered approximately $2.4 million in stolen sneakers, merchandise, and guns, according to Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart, per WGN TV.

Some of the items include high-end designer bags, fragrances, and more, including the unreleased Air Jordan 4 “Paris Olympics” and even multiple pairs from the exclusive Louis Vuitton x Nike Air Force 1 collection.

So far, two people have been charged: Flee Club owner Darris Kelly and employee Jerry Walker.

Flee Club, the Chicago-based resell store, was burglarized in October 2023 as an SUV crashed into the store and stole $100K worth of merch.

Now, Flee Club co-owner Kelly and employee Walker have been charged with felony theft. Walker is also facing a gun charge.

According to officials, employees of the store purchased stolen items and resold them to customers. Authorities believe some of the stolen items came directly from Chicagoland stores. Additionally, Dart said other items may have been stolen from trains.

Per authorities, Flee Club is know as the place to sell stolen goods.

“This was, as they say, an undercover operation where we were sending people in to sell things that we told them was stolen,” Dart said. “We would then go back in with a different undercover officer and buy the stolen stuff we had just sold them.”

“We were recovering the stuff that everyone knew was stolen. We were getting tips from the people that operated (the theft operation) — the two people charged — on what they wanted us to steal, and they directed us in that way, as well.”

The investigation is still active.
