There have been a few mishaps with shoes in the NBA over the years on court, but rarely does it turn out to be a good situation. Luckily for Chris Herren, things worked out quite well despite having to play one pass of defense without a shoe. With just his left shoe on, the Nike Air Powermatic, Herren hits an important 3 in the 4th quarter against the Los Angeles Lakers.

On a side, yet more significant note, today, August 1, 2013, marks five years of sobriety for Chris Herren. His struggle with addiction for more than 14 years came to an end 5 years ago and he has been clean ever since. Today, Chris shares his story with thousands of people annually speaking to more than 250 groups a year. The Nice Kicks team would like to dedicate this day to Chris Herren for not only his 5 years of sobriety, but his commitment to helping others.
