Frank Cooke, the industry veteran who has worked with the likes of Jordan Brand and many others, is now teaming up with Saucony on an extremely limited Jazz 81 collaboration.
The reworked Frank Cooke x Saucony Jazz 81, takes inspiration from Cooke’s childhood and features a mixed-textile construction comprised of suede, mesh, and leather. The pair is anchored in black, which allows the hits of purple and pink to shine through on the heel and toebox. Saucony’s logo arrives on the mid-panels in metallic silver, along with “1981”, a nod to the year the sneaker debuted, on the heel. Rounding out the overall design is a handwritten note etched on the insole that attributed to the “7th Grade Cooker” asking his parents for the shoe.
On the collaboration, Frank Cooke shared, “This project means so much because Saucony has always provided a great product that remains relevant. For me, personal style does not always have to be displayed through high-end fashion or footwear. You should always make what you wear come to life, never let it make you.”
The Frank Cooke x Saucony Jazz 81 will drop on December 9 exclusively through APB brick-and-mortar locations as well as via a draw online. The pair will retail for $100. Launching alongside the footwear is a limited apparel capsule featuring T-shirts and hoodies.
