The recent murders of Breonna Taylor and George Floyd add salt to a wound that has yet to heal as systemic racism, and police brutality continues to take the lives of innocent Black people throughout the country. The recent deaths have resulted in an overwhelming call to justice and action. Activists, organizers, sneakerheads, and notable streetwear figures are doing their part to raise awareness and lend a hand.
Futura2000, Hiroshi Fujiwara, and Jeff Staple are teaming up by donating some exclusive items to raise funds for the ACLU, the Equal Justice Initiative, and Art Start. Each dollar donated equates to one raffle ticket to be split amongst the three organizations.
At the end of checking out, one has the option to choose one of the following if any of your raffle tickets are chosen: Hiroshi Fujiwara’s personal fragment Design x Air Jordan 1 High (size 11.5); Futura’s limited FL-001 Pointman Figure from his Generation Z Exhibition in Tokyo; Jeff Staple’s lasered Nike SB Panda Pigeon Dunk in the Limited Edition Bamboo Box, The Sabotage x Staple “Pigeon Fury” Air Force 1, and a never before released 1 of 1 Black Pigeon Dunk High made by Garrixon Studios (all size 10).
Futura also designed a t-shirt that equates to 40 raffle tickets once purchased. Staple also notes that you can donate without having to select any of the items. Be sure to head over to Staple.com for more details. The auction will be up until June 12 at 1 p.m. EST. Take a detailed look at the items below as well.
