Improving the Culture

Air Jordan 11 "Space Jam"

When looking at the country as a whole, it’s hard to say there was a bigger shoe release than the “Space Jam” Air Jordan 11s. The best part? It feels like everything went right. Moving the shoe up further from Christmas made for a calmer atmosphere and releasing plenty of pairs gave everyone the fairest and safest chance yet to score the ever-popular Toon Squad sneakers. Major props to Jordan Brand and all the mom and pop stores, malls and boutiques that released these during the middle of the day to ensure safety, kept employees from wearing them to keep it about the customers and kept things civil and joyful for an experience that should always be fun.

Can we have a better year for sneaker culture in 2017? Why yes we can. Ending his stay in office, Barack Obama has passed a law to make ticket buying bots illegal. Perhaps sneakers are next? 2017 could be the year that getting your single pair of Yeezys online with no line is a God dream turned reality.

Here’s to an awesome 2017.
