Tottenham striker Harry Kane makes history as the athlete signs a lifetime deal with Skechers. Kane just exited a partnership with Nike and is the first-ever elite footballer to sign with Skechers.
Leading up to the announcement, Kane was seen on the pitch wearing blacked-out sample football boots which we now know were Skechers, per Footy Headlines. The upcoming Harry Kane x Skechers boots are rumored to be available in both low-cut and high-cut styles and are believed to retail for around £220.
This will be the first time ever that Skechers will produce a high performance football boot as the California-based brand has historically offered lifestyle, athleisure, and workwear silhouettes. This deal is not only historic for Kane, but Skechers as well as it marks the American-brand’s entry into the UK football market.
Before now, Skechers last released football boots in 2017, but the Harry Kane x Skechers boots are set to become the brand’s first-ever high-end performance boots for club footballers.
Kane was one of the Nike’s biggest stars and was gifted custom boots after breaking the all-time goalscoring record for England. However, football superfans noticed that Kane wasn’t featured in the most recent 2022 World Cup campaign, which featured fellow English footballers like Phil Foden and Leah Williamson instead.
The loss of Kane is one of many in recent years for Nike as the Swoosh has also cut ties with other stars like Raheem Sterling, Bukayo Saka, Thiago Alcantara, Reece James, Sergio Ramos, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Robert Lewandowski, and Neymar.
As of now, only time will tell when the Harry Kane x Skechers boots are to be expected, but Nice Kicks will continue to update when new details arrive. For more sneaker news and release dates, follow @NiceKicks on Instagram.
