Over the last several years, the sneaker counterfeit business has drastically changed as counterfeiters have become more sophisticated and skilled. One reason counterfeiters have gotten so good at making fakes is that samples are quite easy to come by in Putian, China, where many brands make their official products. Because of this, many counterfeiters also operate from Putian.
Wanting to find out more of the sneaker counterfeit business in Putian, VICE News Tonight on HBO talked with a counterfeiter named Chan, who went divulged how his company is run and how much money he actually makes from selling fake sneakers.
