The Nike Air Griffey Max 1 has, and will continue to be one of the most celebrated releases no matter what colorway it releases in. Earlier this year, Nike blessed us with the “Sport Red” version and will soon allow us a chance at the “Emerald Green” pair. Today, our “In Retrospect” column highlights the Nike Air Griffey Max 1 Metallic Platinum/Black, one of the surprise releases of 2010. Out of nowhere, this quickstrike release landed at select retailers nationwide. As expected, it did not stay on shelves very long and left many sneaker enthusiasts empty handed. A glossy Metallic Platinum upper is paired with multiple black hints on the upper for a nice color contrast. This combination is also visible on the sole section.
