Talk of the Nike Air Yeezy 2 has ignited a healthy dosage of sneaker discussions ever since Mr. West debuted them in a preview of the upcoming Robert Rodriguez film ?The Black Mamba?. There is still no release information of arguably one of the most anticipated sneakers even though we have yet to see detailed images of this shoe. While we are at a standstill in regards to the Nike Air Yeezy 2, our In Retrospect column would like to take you back two years ago and reminisce on the Nike Air Yeezy releases.

Sure, the “Space Jam” Air Jordan 11 was a very anticipated sneaker throughout the year in 2009, but it was this Nike Air Yeezy trifecta that won over the entire sneaker community. If you recall, Nike kicked off their three-sneaker Nike Air Yeezy release with the Zen Grey/Light Charcoal Air Yeezy on April 4, 2009 and followed up with the Net/Net colorway in May and the Black/Pink colorway in June of the same year.

Were you able to get your hands on these extremely limited Nike Air Yeezy colorways, and was it worth the $215? If not, are you wishing you would have snagged one of these two years ago? Which colorway interested you most? Lastly, was the Nike Air Yeezy one of your favorite releases of 2009? Let us know your thoughts on the Nike Air Yeezy releases in the comment section below!
