It’s been a long yet elevated road to recovery for Kyrie Irving. Having played his last game during the 2015 NBA Finals in June, after suffering a left kneecap fracture, Irving’s inner strength propelled him to an amplified training regiment to get back on the court far ahead of traditional rehabilitation scheduling.
Making his season debut today against the Philadelphia 76ers, Irving’s accelerated regiment to regain his All-Star form is inspired; starting every morning at 6:30 a.m., for two and a half hours prior to team practice at 10:00 a.m., weight and strength training alongside on-court workouts help Kyrie re-establish his core. Yet, as history serves, working this hard is nothing new for the youthful guard – dating back to his prep school years in New Jersey.
In a new clip from Nike Basketball, which also features the all-new Nike Kyrie 2, Kyrie’s comeback efforts lend to the notion that talent isn’t always enough, hard work and dedication mean much more. See for yourself in the visual below.
