With the Yankees down 2 games to none the entire season hinged on Game 3 of the ALDS with the Oakland A’s. An overthrown ball from the outfield missed two cut off men with a game tying play at the plate. Jeter ran from his position covering the mound to the first baseline where he barehanded the ball and gave it “The Flip” home that was just in time for the tag to keep the Yankees up 1-0. The Yankees would later go onto win the series against the A’s.
