Shoe: Jumpman Jeter Clutch
The New York Yankees played their final game at Yankee Stadium against the Baltimore Orioles – the city that gave birth to the franchise and legendary Yankee Babe Ruth. The Yankees won the memorable game, but Jeter’s speech would resonate with many long after fans exited the house that Ruth built. Jeter’s speech thanking the fans was so touching that it won MLB’s This Year In Baseball award for Moment of the Year for the 2008 season.
On his feet for the final day at Yankee Stadium, Jeter took the field wearing the Jumpman Jeter Clutch. The Clutch makes its way onto the Throwback by the padded pinstripe tongue making a nod to the Yankee’s pinstripe uniforms.
