Although it may seem like rapper Jack Harlow and New Balance already had a deal, but New Balance has stated today that they’ve officially signed Harlow as a brand ambassador for the New England-based footwear company. Harlow joins the likes of fellow musician Jaden Smith, NBA All-Stars Kawhi Leonard and Dejounte Murray, and tennis star Coco Gauff on the New Balance roster.
“I have been rocking New Balance since I was a kid, so to officially join the brand in this way is really exciting,” says Jack. “I’ve always loved the 990 and recently the Joe Fresh Goods 990v3 and collabs with the 550’s have been fire. I’m excited to peek behind the curtain and work with the brand more.”
“Jack is a rising star and an authentic fan of New Balance. We could not ask for a more ideal ambassador to represent our brand. We are consistently impressed with Jack’s devoted passion for his craft and his relentless desire to improve,” stated New Balance chief marketing officer and SVP of merchandising Chris Davis. “He is simply an individual who is not afraid to innovate, a value that is mirrored in our brand identity. We look forward to collaborating with Jack to transcend the world of fashion and sport, just as he has done in music and culture.”
New Balance also stated that Harlow, who’s participating in the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game in Cleveland on Friday, will be breaking out a new performance basketball sneaker for the game on court.
Harlow is no stranger to the brand, as New Balance models consistently stay in his sneaker rotation and stating that the New Balance 990 is his favorite sneaker of all time. The Louisville native has even appeared in a commercial for the brand for the New Balance Fresh Foam 1080v11 and featured New Balance branding front and center in his music video for “Tyler Herro”. Terms of the deal are not disclosed but expect Jack to make appearances in marketing campaigns and play an integral role for New Balance.
