It has never been more clear that James Harden is an absolute star. The NBA’s front-runner for MVP and GQ Style’s May 2018 cover boy is currently reaping the benefits of his hard work, which required long hours perfecting his game and, equally important, his signature off-court style.
James is loud. Or, at least, his style tends to be. He’s often in boisterous prints, vivid colors, and shoes that accent all of what’s happening up top — beard included. One might say his style is fast and fluid. His game, though, is slow and based largely on stopping and the concept of deceleration. All of this — and much more — is wrapped into a new capsule collection by adidas subsidiary, Y-3.
The Yohji Yamamoto led brand conceptualized and subsequently produced three Harden inspired sneakers — the JH Boost ($450), the JH Bashyo ($400), and the JH Tangutsu ($330), respectively. Each shoe, both through overt design aesthetics and subversive detailing, represents Harden’s avant-garde approach to his personal style. Essentially acting as reaffirmation of just how impressive and unique his style has been over the years, the collection also encapsulates jackets, shirting, trousers, and accessories.
The James Harden x adidas Y-3 capsule collection is available now at global outpost including SSENSE.
