Following his two year run with Nike, Jerry Lorenzo announced in December 2020 that he would be switching to Three-Stripes as the Fear of God Creative Director took on a new role at adidas. As the lead of adidas Basketball’s global creative and business strategy, fans have been patiently waiting to see what projects Lorenzo would bring to life. Finally, after a little over two years from Lorenzo’s initial agreement with adidas, leaked images have revealed the upcoming Fear of God x adidas Basketball Sneaker — but supposedly, it’s not what it seems.
After the leaked images surfaced online, Jerry Lorenzo reached out to Complex to clarify that the leaked sneaker was not the basketball shoe from the forthcoming Fear of God x adidas line.
Lorenzo also confirmed with Complex that the unseen sneakers and ready-to-wear performance line will officially debut on April 19th, during the preview of Fear of God’s 8th collection at the Hollywood Bowl.
It seems that the leaked pair may have been an early sample, with Fear of God branding debossed on the back of the midsole. The sneaker itself is rather simple with an extended tonal White toecap complete with a new iteration of the Three-Stripes on the toe. From there, the sneaker builds into a Black mesh upper with a lace strap on the front. The upper sits atop a milky midsole with the reimagined Three-Stripes embossed on the front. Finishing details include a debossed Trefoil on the heel and a Lightstrike underfoot.
