Chi-town’s own Joe Freshgoods teams up with New Balance yet again as the designer and creative director takes on the NB 650. Earlier this year, the streetwear beacon released the Joe Freshgoods x New Balance “Beneath The Surface” Collection which offered three different footwear options and a range of apparel.
As a longtime New Balance collaborator, Joe Freshgoods has played with innovative color with the New Balance 993 “Performance Art” Collection and delivered Black excellence through the New Balance “Conversations Amongst Us” Collection, but for the upcoming Joe Freshgoods x New Balance 650 — he takes it back to the basics.
This New Balance 650 has a vintage charm to it as the upper is covered is soft Sail leather, looking as though it’s been aged to perfection, but has yet to yellow. The high-top silhouette naturally lends itself to the vintage aesthetic as it could blend in seamlessly with the sneakers of the late 80’s and early 90’s. Yet even with its vintage flair, Joe Freshgoods creates a timeless sneaker as its monochrome colorway will never go out of style.
