Since he was drafted in 2014, Sixers All-Star big man Joel Embiid has been wearing adidas on and off the court. However now that Emibiid’s deal with adidas is ending on September 30th, the Sixers big man seems to have switched his allegiances to Under Armour.

Through the first few days of Philadelphia’s training camp, Embiid has been wearing the Under Armour HOVR Havoc Mid and according to him, he’s pretty close to joining Under Armour.

“My contract with adidas officially ends up on the 30th,” Embiid said, via Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer. “Just trying new shoes. I’m a free agent. So I’m just trying new shoes, but there’s contract negotiations and we’re pretty close.”

If Embiid does join Under Armour, he will instantly be one of the biggest brand’s biggest stars as Stephen Curry and Tom Brady are currently their two main signature athletes. Whether or not that means Embiid will get a signature line like Curry and Brady remains to be seen but overall, it looks like the Sixers All-Star big man will be signing with Under Armour before the start of the upcoming season.
