Joel Embiid Unveils His First Signature Sneaker, the Under Armour Embiid One

Joel Embiid and Under Armour are going all in on that idea with the unveiling of his first signature sneaker, the Under Armour Embiid One.

Under Armour Embiid One “Origin”

Set to officially hit UA.com and select retailers in Fall 2020, its release will make the 3x NBA All-Star the only active player at the Center position in the NBA with a sneaker bearing their name.

The inaugural colorway, dubbed “The Origin,” will feature callbacks to Embiid’s roots, including colors of the Cameroonian flag and an outline of Africa on the heel.

By way of Uproxx’s Robby Kalland, Embiid made sure to craft a shoe that caters to players of all sizes, stating, “It’s not a big man shoe; it’s just a shoe for a basketball player. In the past, shoes I’ve had have been too heavy or too big. This idea was making it as light as possible. It all comes back to being able to do everything on the basketball court.”

You can look for the Under Armour Embiid One to release in the “Origin” colorway on September 18 in North America via Eastbay.com, UA.com, and UA Brand Houses, and worldwide on October 2.
