John Elliott‘s history with Nike is enough to inspire any up and coming entrepreneur to persevere. After sending letters to Nike as a youth — only to be subsequently rejected by the Beaverton-based giant — he’s now partnering with the brand on multiple projects. Among the foremost is his upcoming collaboration with LeBron James.
Elliott’s Nike LeBron Icon collaboration first previewed back in May. Seen first and primarily on James himself, the focused design adorns sleek lines and angular curves for a sporty yet contemporary confluence. Its semi translucent upper partners well with a fully translucent outsole. The two are then parted by full-length Visible Air, a favored cushioning tool of James’ who has gone on record to confess his love for the Air Max series — especially the Air Max 95.
Elliott, of course, grounded his Nike union with his first release of the Vandal High. Sail and Black iterations released to immediate sellouts, for which the Icon will likely suffer a similar fate. Seen here are official images of the White/Black edition. We’ve also seen previews of a Black pair.
Slated to release on this weekend on August 4th, a detailed look at the John Elliott x Nike LeBron Icon can be seen below. In the meantime, check out what’s in John’s wardrobe.
