Jordan Brand continues their effort to empower women on and off the court and have launched their inaugural Jordan Women’s Collective.
The select group of women spans all across the globe from the States to Europe and Asia where participants will receive a portion of funds from a grant that will go back to their respective communities and participate in retreats, panels, events, and mentorship for 6 months. After the 6 month program, the group will help select the next collective of women.
Jordan Brand states in a press release that they recognize the performative element that can come with the term “inclusive” and states that the collective will not be a “product-incubator banking on cultural capital.” The collective of women has shown commitment to basketball and sneaker culture within their respective cities and comprises an eclectic group of skaters, artists, activists, business owners, and more.
