As they’ve done annually each of the past years, Jordan Brand today offers a glimpse into an extensive offering set to release in accordance with the NBA’s yearly pause. The 2019 All-Star Game, which takes place in Charlotte, holds special meaning, as it’s Michael Jordan’s home state and that of his NBA franchise.
Jordan Brand focuses on that heritage with the collection and its shining moment — the return of the Air Jordan 6 “Black Infrared” in OG form. Jordan wore the shoe back in 1991 when the All-Star Game was last in Charlotte.
Continuing to focus on Jordan’s legacy, more from his signature series helps shape the collection. There’s the retro-fitted Air Jordan 1 with vintage leather and suede. Two odes to his alma mater, the University of North Carolina are seen through the Air Jordan 1 and Air Jordan 9, respectively. Moreover, the collection even tracks back to his high school days with the Air Jordan 5 “Laney” in an alternative colorway.
Jordan’s current signature model, the Air Jordan 33, is also represented in the assortment of styles. As is Russell Westbrook second on-court signature shoe — the Jordan Why Not Zer0.2. There is one collaborative release in the pack, an Air Jordan 6 inspired by the elder “Black Cat” colorway produced in partnership with local retailer Social Status.
