With the season-long MVP debate finally coming to a conclusion at the first ever annual NBA Awards show tonight, Jordan Brand has released a new commercial aimed at hyping up the qualifications of San Antonio Spurs All-Star Kawhi Leonard. Along with Russell Westbrook and James Harden, Leonard is one of the top candidates for the MVP award due to his excellent two-way play and winning ways.
This versatile aspect of Leonard’s game is what JB highlights in their new clip. But instead of just listing off all of Leonard’s accomplishments on both defense and offense, Jordan’s commercial for the Spurs All-Star pits two teenagers against each other, as they debate which part of his game is greater.
JB tries to tackle an unanswerable question here. Leonard is an elite defender that has won multiple Defensive Player of the Year awards and his offensive game has grown to be one of the best in the league. Each aspect of his game has tremendous merit and it is quite hard to single out if he is better on defense or offense.
Of course there is no real need to answer which part of Leonard’s game is greater because it clear to see that the Spurs are one of the best teams in the league due to his all-around excellence.
