Although we’re all well-versed with the Air Jordan 1 “Gatorade” Collection and its adjoining Air Jordan 6 “Gatorade” that drops next week, Jordan Brand recently unveiled official imagery for the collection and further detailed its inspiration from the August 1991 “Like Mike” campaign.
Starring the Air Jordan 6, the very shoe MJ wore during the 1991 campaign, its green suede upper alongside orange accents take inspiration from the nostalgic Gatorade squeeze bottle. The Air Jordan 1 collection takes directly from the sporting drink’s popular flavors, interpreting Lemon Lime, Grape, Cool Blue and Orange through the 1985 icon.
Look for the Air Jordan 1 collection on December 26 and the Air Jordan 6 “Gatorade” on December 30.
