“My shoe is like playing a video game and having a cheat code.” – Chris Paul on the Jordan CP3.IV.
Today, December 16th, 2010, Jordan Brand officially released Chris Paul’s fourth signature sneaker, the Jordan CP3.IV. The low profile sneaker is the second model in his respective line to feature Jordan Brand’s newly-developed Podulon technology. Chris Paul has an uncanny ability to get anywhere he wants on the court using his speed and quickness; therefore, Jordan Brand designed a lightweight, no-sew construction to aid his strengths. The CP3.IV contains Zoom Air and the aforementioned Podulon technology for extreme cushioning and responsiveness, mainly in the forefoot. Also, a lateral forefoot outrigger assists one when making quick, sudden movements.
As seen in all Chris Paul sneakers, personal and/or family-oriented attributes are seen throughout this design. In detail, the asymmetrical collar is inspired by his favorite Jordan model, the Air Jordan XIII. The star graphic on the sockliner represents CP’s characteristics of quickness, heart, faith, family, leadership and community. Lastly, the external heel graphic pays tribute to Paul’s grandfather, who owned a gas station in Salem.
A special colorway of the Jordan CP3.IV will be available on December 13, 2010; however, the CP3.IV will launch nationwide on January 1, 2011, for $118. View detailed photos below.
