What started in 2005 with the Dub Zero has clearly gone a few steps too far. While Jordan Brand has seen success with retro mashups like the prior mentioned, the Spizike, and a little with the 6 Rings, the Jordan Flight 9 does not fit into the win column. While one can probably list off all the different retro models that were thrown onto the silhouette in an entropic manner, bottom line, it doesn’t matter. For too long Jordan has hobbled down easy street with the crutch of great shoes of the past and some time, some where, a line needs to be drawn. Jordan Brand and their design team have come up with designs and technologies that deserve the highest of praise and because of their past success, it is hard to accept that these shoes will bear the same name and logo as the greatest of all time. |
