Jordan Brand, 20 years ago, first introduced the shoe we now affectionately refer to as “Team J’s”. And, by in large, consumers hated them. This disdain wasn’t due to the fact that they were ugly, poorly produced sneakers, it was primarily indicative of the shoe being viewed as a second-tier Jordan. They were seen as lesser than, which was only true in perception, not fact.
Over the years, though, we’ve learned to embrace Team J’s, especially the first of their kind – the Jordan Jumpman Pro. That shoe returns later this year.
Released around the same time as the Air Jordan 12 – in which the shoe bears certain comparisons – the Jumpman Pro denotes a full-grain leather upper atop Zoom-cushioned stability. 2008 was the first time the shoe retroed, although most will say that iteration wasn’t of the best craftsmanship, for the moment, further separating consumers from anything other than proper Air Jordans. Yet, in an era of remastered JB releases, it’s hard to imagine a similar fate will meet this years version.
Give the 20th anniversary Jordan Jumpman Pro Retro a closer look below. Keep it locked to Nice Kicks for a Jordan Release Date.
