In celebration of the Air Force 1’s 35th anniversary, Nike has joined with a distinct cast of who’s who creatives to craft special editions of the shoe given a white/white canvas. Don C, one of Nike Inc’s most popular collaborators of the moment and a quintessential figure in modern streetwear, found inspiration for his pair in the models two successors.

“I knew I wanted to use premium leather and to mix the best quality of material and fabrics, and we did just that,” the Chicago native stated. “There were details from the Air Force 2 and Air Force 3 that I wanted to bring into the shoe, and I appreciate Nike giving me the freedom to push the limits there.”

Don, along with all other collaborators, created his Air Force 1 manifesto in partnership with Al Baik, Senior Creative Director Nike Sportswear, Lead Designer. “Don C is an aficionado in sneakers and basketball culture. He wanted to give the shoe a premium look, which comes through in the rolled edges and gold accents,” Baik recalled from working with Don. He also spoke to the process of combination all three Air Force 1 silhouettes. “The medial side of the shoe was taken from the Air Force 2 and the heel from the Air Force 3. It all rolls together nicely while still staying true to the classic Air Force 1 look.”

The Just Don x Nike Air Force 1 Hi will release on December 1 at SNKRS and select retailers.
