In the midst of all the adidas Yeezy Boost hype last week, adidas’ Hungarian website posted a product page for a “Solar Red” Yeezy 750 Boost. The page was almost instantly taken down, but it led many to believe that the shoe would be the second colorway of the highly anticipated first shoe between Kanye West and adidas. Yet, according to Kanye, the “Solar Red” Yeezy Boost is not happening.
Caught on the streets of New York City by the paparazzi, Kanye was asked how many pieces would be in his adidas collection and how many colorways. He insisted “there’s gonna be plenty” right before walking past the fan who he asked to throw his Nikes in the trash for a pair of adidas Yeezys. The paps persisted with questioning about a Solar Red colorway to which Kanye answered, “we’re not doing red no more.”
Could Kanye West have officially killed the all-red sneaker trend? Let us know your thoughts below. The adidas Yeezy Boost “Light Brown” drops on Saturday, February 14th in NYC.
