Sneaker culture is at its very best when diversity reigns. Karhu’s recent resurgence is not only central for the European-based runner brand’s longevity, but for the viability of the culture at large, and continued creativity that often stems from heightened competition.
Karhu today reveals that latest addition to their spring 2017 collection which highlights new variations of their Fusion 2.0 and Aria silhouettes. Inspired by their Finnish roots and the many travel destinations in the immediate region, the Fusion 2.0 sees its creative fuel derived from Porvoo; a worldly city that is home to many artists as well as vibrant red shore houses. This inspiration is seen through premium pigskin suede and overlaying nylon mesh panels.
The Aria seeks more historic design elements, pulling from OG running silhouette colorways that the brand produced back in the 90s. A similar material execution is found here alongside specked midsole implementation and compression EVA cushioning.
Karhu’s new spring offering launches globally on Friday, April 21. Pairs can be found online here.
