While the year is still young, New Balance is quickly building some good momentum following a solid 2019. The brand that has long been dominant in the performance running space is starting to pull ahead again in lifestyle with solid work on the retro model 850 along with the modernized classic 997S.
New Balance reentered the performance basketball footwear arena last year and is represented at the highest level by two-time NBA Finals MVP Kawhi Leonard with his signature model the New Balance OMN1S. Kawhi’s shoe is featured in New Balance’s upcoming Black History Month collection.
This is the first time that the brand has assembled a BHM collection that pulls together four models: OMN1S, 997S, 850, and 574. Across the line, the shoes sport navy uppers with red and gold accents that carry to midsole speckling on the 850 and 574. The OMN1S receives a special touch with a midfoot band that reads “Inspire.”
The collection will be available at newbalance.com on January 30, 2020.
