Following two widely triumphant releases under his label Pyer Moss in conjunction with Reebok, brand founder Kerby Jean-Raymond is gearing up for his third sneaker experiment.
Just this weekend he previewed the Pyer Moss x Reebok Experiment 3 sample for which he seemed very pleased.
Likely not the final version of the shoe as it is a sample, remnants of elder Reebok basketball designs quickly come to mind. While not identical to signature models like the Shaqnosis or Kamikaze II, the mid-cut creation stands as a variation of that ilk. More pointedly, however, and in direct relation to those signature models, they both inspire the shoe Raymond seems inspired by the most — the Mobius.
Built in an asymmetrical slant with overlaying components that include a concealing shroud, odes to Raymond’s personal life and his brand crown his third Reebok sneaker. A tribute to his mother, Vania Moss Pierre, is seen on the back of the shroud strap. “Reebok by Pyer Moss” then appears on the ankle and zipper.
Raymond didn’t, of course, make mention of the shoe’s release origins. Although we can gather that sometime in spring/summer 2019 is likely.
