Air Jordan 10 “Seattle”
I’ll never forget the day; it was a Saturday back in 1995, and I was in Nashville with my parents for the day. There was this one sports store down there that had all these cool shoes I had never seen, and my dad would stop at the mall just so I could look at the shoes. When I was 15, nothing was cooler than getting a new pair of shoes. As I was looking around the store, I saw some Jordans I had never seen before. They were 10s, and they had green and yellow on them. On the sticker it said Seattle, and I immediately knew it was for the Sonics. I was a HUGE Sonics fan back then when Kemp and Payton ran the show, and these were like heaven to me. I ran out of the store to my dad and begged him to buy them for me because my birthday was coming up, and I told him this was all I wanted. My dad knew how much shoes meant to me and bought them for me. I wore them to school on that Monday and all my friends kept asking me, ‘What kind of Jordans are those?’ Knowing that nobody else had them was better than the hottest girl in school asking me out at that time.
Well, as we all know, the 11s were next in line for Jordans, and the 10s went to lawn mower duty-shoes. After lawn mower duty came the trash and I have never, to this day, seen another pair of Seattle 10s on anyone’s feet. When I go on eBay and see them for $600+, I cringe knowing that mine were stained up with grass and thrown in a landfill somewhere in Kentucky.
I’m never one to spend a lot on shoes, but if these ever came available at a reasonable price, I might have to sell a few things around the house to grab them. The Lord knows these won’t be used for mowing lawns again.
