Shoe City, adidas Originals, The Sneaker Suite and Everyday LaVan teamed up for the 6th Annual Kicks for Kids Shoe Drive Event. Shoe City locations in Baltimore and DC hosted the likes of Freeway, Biker Chino, Black Cobain, Neef Buck and Black Alley, who performed, signed autographs and took pictures with fans. The annual event aims to raise money to distribute sneakers to local charities throughout the DMV.
Following the DC event at Shoe City, Freeway, Black Alley, Black Cobain and Neef Buck performed at Howard Theater for the Kicks for Kids Concert. Attendees who donated $10 at Shoe City received free tickets to the concert, 20% off coupons at Shoe City and free swag from adidas and Pepsi.
The concert featured 18 local artists given the chance to open for Freeway and Black Alley. The winning acts, Harmony and Cousin Bubb, collectively raised $700 for the cause. DC Mayor Vincent C. Gray was on hand, sharing the stage with representatives from Safe Shores, Sasha Bruce House, and the Jr. Board of Administration. Each organization received $1,000 and sneaker for their program. Congrats to the Shoe City, adidas and the organizations that benefited from Kicks for Kids. Check out recap photos from the DC event by Everyday LaVan below.
