During the 2009-2010 NBA season, many of the Nike Brand members have debuted new sneakers such as the Zoom Flip’n, the Air Max Rise and the Blue Chip II. However, just when we thought there would be anymore Nike sneaker debuts, one of the Memphis Grizzlies wore one of Nike’s newly-designed hybrids last night. With that said, check out today’s Kicks On Court to see this new sneaker.
In a loss against the Denver Nuggets, Memphis Grizzlies guard OJ Mayo became the first player to debut the fairly-new Nike Air Max A Lot. This particular sneaker is simply a hybrid that pays tribute to Scottie Pippen’s legendary signature line. It obviously draws some of its design cues from some of Pippen’s signature shoes as well as shoes most people remember him playing in that were not necessarily his signature kicks. For example, the enlarged ‘AIR’ on the side reminds many of the classic Air More Uptempo and the midsole stripe was first seen on the Nike Air Pippen II. As for Mayo’s Max A Lot PEs, they own a mainly black leather upper with yellow and sky blue accents throughout the base; his PEs undoubtedly coincide with the Grizzlies jerseys.
