Sure, we’ve seen some impressive kicks on court during the preseason, but the real season starts tonight.
Throughout the offseason, we’ve paid attention to every player transaction, every brand switch by each player and all social media posts pertaining to kicks on court. We’ve done our research of certain anniversaries and milestones that will happen this season and noticed the ever-evolving trends that will more than likely take place this year. We’ve also looked back at past seasons in regards to the kicks that were worn on certain games. So, without further ado, here are our Five Fearless Forecasts for 2013-2014 NBA season.
1. Nick Young will struggle to maintain the “wow” factor now that he’s with the Los Angeles Lakers.
We love Nick Young here. Don’t get it twisted. For the past three years, Nick Young has been one of the most exciting players to watch in terms of Kicks On Court. He’s been fortunate to play for three teams – Washington Wizards, Los Angeles Clippers and the Philadelphia 76ers – that feature a color combination of red, white and blue. There’s a limitless amount of shoes that agree with that color scheme. Purple and gold is a different beast in regard to matching, and the NBA will only let a player go so far with contrasting shoe colorways.
Nick Young will wear some intriguing shoes as always but will struggle to maintain a steady diet of the vintage heat we usually see him wearing because of the more unconventional color scheme. Kobes will dominate his on-court rotation, but look for him to rock retros, just not as much as previous seasons.
