Kicks On Court Champion nominee Nick Young has fittingly debuted and/or worn a steady diet of Nike Kobes this season, but every now and then, the Los Angeles Laker laces up shoes from other popular lines. In last night’s loss to Portland, Young scored 40 points while wearing the “Wheat” Nike Air Zoom Generation.
Nick Young attempted to wear the “Wheat” Generations last season – as a member of the Philadelphia 76ers – during NBA Green Week, but Philly’s officials forced him to switch shoes at the last minute prior to the game. He said that the color of the Generations was a representation of tree bark. That’s Swaggy P for you.
We’ve seen the Zoom Generation on court this year, thanks to Norris Cole and DeMarcus Cousins, but the nubuck-textured “Wheat” Generation sighting is something we haven’t witnessed in more than five years. The 10 year old “Wheat” Zoom Generation was first worn by LeBron James during the 2004 All-Star Weekend in Los Angeles. View these kicks on court, plus others, below.
Also, check back later today for our latest Sole Access episode featuring the Los Angeles Lakers.
