Since 2009, Nike has celebrated the late Martin Luther King, Jr. through special sneakers. While the first two years saw special makeups, such as the MLK Nike Zoom Kobe IV and the Nike Blue Chip II, created exclusively for the federal observation of MLK Day, it has now become a debut day for Nike’s Black History Month Collection.
Multiple Nike/Jordan Brand athletes debuted various Sport Royalty-themed sneakers from the upcoming 2014 Black History Month collection in last night’s MLK Day games. We also spotted a very nice Anatomix Spawn MLK Day exclusive on the feet of Under Armour’s lead endorser, Steph Curry.
