This past weekend, the NBA returned to the tune of one preseason game on Saturday and two yesterday, which included LeBron James and the Cavs hosting the Israel-based Maccabi Tel Aviv professional basketball club. Most eyes were on the Cavs, as they took to the court with their new-look roster, but we spotted a couple of noteworthy sneakers in Saturday’s Miami Heat vs. New Orleans Pelicans game.
Former Louisville Cardinal Russ Smith made his NBA debut by recording 12 points, an assist, two steals and two turnovers in 13 second-half minutes while wearing the “Playoff” Nike Zoom LeBron IV aka the “Remix” version. The shoe, which pairs with the Pelicans uniforms perfectly, was actually worn by LeBron James during one of the last regular season games of the 2006-2007 NBA season instead of the 2007 NBA Playoffs despite its nickname. Initially, the “Remix” LeBron IV was an Asia-exclusive quickstrike that released in April of 2007 but later released on the Nike Members Only Store in the U.S. a month later. View these Russ’ kicks, plus the Hyperposite 2014s of Anthony Davis and Chris Bosh, below.
