Our Editor-In-Chief George Kiel III’s Kiel Colon Cancer Foundation hosted its second of many scheduled Kick & Roll Open Gym session this past weekend. As with the first session that took place this past month, a great amount of superb footwear hit the hardwood in Austin, Texas.

The sneaker-themed, monthly pickup basketball event, which, again, was free to everyone involved and sponsored by the Josh Childress Foundation, is designed to raise awareness for colorectal cancer, encourage a healthy lifestyle and build a rapport within the communities that they serve through themed, non-monetary donations. KCCF’s for the February session was to to provide “Get Well” cards for those currently in a battle with colon cancer; therefore, their 40 participants were required to bring with them at least one “Get Well” card to play in the event. The cards were collected at the beginning of the event and will be given to a new group of colon cancer patients in the Austin, Texas area during March, Colon Cancer Awareness Month.

Some of the shoes spotted on court include a copper-colored Air Jordan 3 custom, the “Space Jam” Air Jordan 11, the Nike What The LeBron 11, a pair of Sole Collector Nike Air Zoom Flight ’98s, the Lance Mountain x Nike SB Air Jordan 1 and much more.

Check out the “Blue” Blog on kielcoloncancer.org to see more recap coverage on the event in addition to upcoming affairs that they will be hosting.
