Newly crowned Dior Menswear Artistic Director, Kim Jones, hasn’t yet shown his debut collection in his new role. Many are still reeling from one of his final acts during his post at Louis Vuitton, a collaboration with Supreme that stands as one of the most influential in recent memory.
Jones, though, whether with Louis Vuitton or now with Doir, won’t stop working with Nike. Proven this week when the talented designer debuted a budding Air Max sneaker and matching apparel collection, Jones’s modern creation highlights fused mesh and leather fabrication matched alongside full-length Visible Air with “Kim Jones” written across the translucent midsole tube. An enlarged Swoosh blankets the sleek monotone grey upper while a top strap that mimics the Nike Vandal — Jones’ favorite sneaker growing up — punctuates the look.
This Kim Jones x Nike Air Max sneaker hasn’t been vindicated with specific release details. We do know that Jones’ Nike collaboration is available to some degree at Dover Street Market London. Stay tuned for more details.
