The first retro of any Air Jordan sneaker came nine years after Michael Jordan’s first signature shoe, and only six years after the re-issued model was originally released. The Air Jordan 1 released in 1985, and the first re-release came in 1994 in the form of the Air Jordan 3 that debuted in ’88. LeBron James’ first signature shoe, the Nike Zoom Generation, launched in 2003. Ten years later, King James has yet to receive a retro rendition of any of his shoes, but that might not last long. Over the weekend, LBJ dipped into his personal archive and laced his very first shoe on its 10th anniversary. Donning the Nike Zoom Generation “First Game”, James took to IG to show us his #todayskicks and teased at a re-release by saying “Retro time people?”.
How epic would it be if LeBron started the 2013 season in the same sneaker he wore when he arrived in 2003? Tell us if you would like to see the Zoom Generation in retro form in the comment section below, and keep it locked to Nice Kicks for all of your sneaker news and information.
