Kith and Vans come together for the first time on a collaborative footwear project alongside Japanese streetwear label, mastermind.
The three part capsule includes winterized offerings of the Sk8-Hi Zip LX, the Old Skool LX, and the OG Classic Slip-On.
Kith x mastermind WORLD x Vans Collection
Two renditions of the Sk8-Hi Zip LX are presented in the collection – one that features a Triple Black color scheme with a canvas and nubuck upper, while its counterpart is constructed with a brown leather application. Each high-top implements a shearling liner for warmth, metal eyelets, and metal mastermind skull logos on the heel collar for the Japanese brand’s signature streetwear edge. Lastly, each style comes equipped with a zip-up application on the back with a skeleton graphic that lines the waffle outsole.
The Old Skool is rendered with the same color and material application as one of the Sk8-Hi styles, featuring a brown leather upper, a shearling liner, and work boot laces, while the mastermind logo is tonally embossed onto the leather itself, as opposed to the metal accents.
The OG Classic Slip-On takes a different approach than the previous styles, reworking the iconic checkerboard pattern into Kith and mastermind logos, while the heel collar is finished with a premium nubuck textile. Furthermore, the shoe also integrates the same skeleton design not the waffle outsole like the others in the collection.
Lastly, all the silhouettes in the triple-branded collaboration each feature the phrase, “Peace on Earth/World on Fire” debased onto the midsoles.
The Kith x mastermind WORLD x Vans Collection releases on Friday, January 18 exclusively at Kith locations and the brand’s online shop.
