Welcome to The Big Apple: 1998 NBA All-Star Game

The season before, Kobe dazzled us all by winning the 1997 NBA Slam Dunk Contest. However, during the 1998 NBA All-Star weekend, his talents were exclusively reserved for Sunday night as he took part in the All-Star Game in Madison Square Garden. Featuring the likes of Tim Duncan, Shaquille O’Neal and Michael Jordan, this contest would ultimately become a proving ground for Bryant, who laced up a PE colorway of the adidas KB8.

Mr. Bryant would not disappoint as he turned in a outing of 18 points and six rebounds, all while showcasing two stellar dunks and going one-on-one with the GOAT himself, Michael Jordan. Thus, subsequently priming himself to become the heir apparent to MJ’s remarkable run as the league’s marquee figure.
