“Chasing Michael”

After enduring multiple seasons that witnessed the Lakers eliminated from playoff contention in traumatic fashion, this illustrious franchise led by Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant secured consecutive NBA championships during the 1999-2000 and 2000-2001 campaigns, respectively.

While plenty will continue to argue that Kobe couldn’t win those championships alone, the prolific guard easily made his case for supremacy as his aggregate totals of 22.5 points per game, 6.3 rebounds and 4.9 assists during the ’99-’00 postseason and 29.4 points per game, 7.3 rebounds and 6.1 assists during the ’00-’01 postseason, made his case formidable.
