Redemption
After suffering a crushing defeat at the hands of the Boston Celtics during the 2008 NBA Finals, the Los Angeles Lakers re-tooled and came back for redemption during the 2008-2009 NBA season. Finishing with 65-17 record, the Lakers garnered the one seed in the Western Conference and eventually secured their first title in nearly ten years against the Orlando Magic.
The very next season, the Los Angeles Lakers would repeat their Championship endeavors as they captured another title against the team that beat them in 2008, the Boston Celtics. As the Lakers were on the verge of building another dynasty, Bryant would leave his imprint as he secured consecutive NBA Finals MVP awards, along with gaining traction on Michael Jordan’s illustrious six championship rings.
