After boasting two impressive NBA Finals victories, the Los Angeles Lakers seemed poised to three-peat for the second time in a decade as a roster lined with the likes of Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol and Andrew Bynum seemed very formidable. With Bryant entering his 15th season, the Mamba seemed dead pressed to build his own dynasty without Shaq, as he entered the season rocking the Nike Zoom Kobe VI.
