The Kobe VII is not a shoe – it’s a system. Tomorrow, Kobe will kick off the 2011-12 NBA season taking on the Chicago Bulls on Christmas Day, in the Kobe VII “Cheetah”, but the cushioning system he will use has yet to be determined.
Late this evening, Christmas Eve, a box arrived with two pairs of the new Kobe VII as well as a thumb drive. On the drive was a video where Kobe asked myself, as well as 5 other editors from magazines and blogs which system he should rock with tomorrow.
Play Fast features Zoom Air cushioning for a low to the ground, super responsive most of you would be familiar with if you played in prior Kobe models. Play Strong sports a softer ride, but one great for those digging in on the court on their heels as well as a slightly higher ankle boot.
A Black Mamba kills with its speed. That being said, my vote is to Play Fast.
